🏈 Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson hit the “5” target five or six times, but was only given credit for one hit during the “Passing the Test” competition at the Pro Bowl Games.
🏈 Russell Wilson hung out with Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett at the Pro Bowl Games.
🏈 With five to nine yards to go, the Steelers ran the ball at a 40.0% clip. Only the Green Bay Packers were higher.
🏈 Team president Art Rooney II is comfortable with the Steelers culture.
“I’m very comfortable with the culture in this team. I think it is a winning culture. I think people need to keep it in perspective here,” Rooney told Ashley Liotus of WTAE. “Even though we haven’t reached our goal of winning a Super Bowl, we’ve had winning teams. We’ve been making the playoffs.”
🏈 Art Rooney II also reiterated that Mike Tomlin is the right person to lead the Steelers.
🏈 Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk questions if the Steelers should give George Pickens a new contract.
“If you make him prove himself this year and then you pay him, does he revert? Does he act the way he should for one year, get the contract? Florio pondered. “Because once you get that contract, you know the way the contract’s gonna be structured, you have a certain amount of bulletproof-ness to you. If you give him money, is he gonna change? And at what point do you come to the conclusion that this is just who he is?”
🏈 Art Rooney II doesn’t have a plan to retire anytime soon.
“I don’t have a timeline on it. My grandfather never retired. My father never retired, so I’m hoping to follow in their footsteps,” Rooney told Jenna Harner of WPXI. “Look, my son’s involved in the business now, and potentially other family members will be involved, and so we’ll see how it goes.”
🏈 Art Rooney II confirms the Steelers will be talking to both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson’s reps soon:
“We’ll be talking to Justin and his representative as well as Russell and his representative here soon. It’s one of those things where the sooner the better in terms of finalizing something with one of them,” Rooney told Ashley Liotus of WTAE.
