to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, it has been 66 years since the last time the Steelers completely gutted the quartreback position. In 1957, they brought in Earl Morrall, Len Dawson and Jack Kemp to replace Ted Marchibroda and Jack Scarbath. Otherwise, there was always at least one holdover.
? Newly acquired Steelers wide receiver Quez Watkins had a 79-yard catch-and-run touchdown against Pittsburgh in the preseason in 2021.
Coming out of Southern Mississippi, Watkins ran a 4.35 40-yard dash and had a 36 1/2-inch vertical at the NFL Combine, measuring in at 6-foot, 185 pounds. Over his tenure in Philadelphia, Watkins developed as a big play threat.
