? With the Pittsburgh Steelers signing the likes of Patrick Queen, Russell Wilson, and Justin Fields this offseason, NFL fans have been raving about the team on social media. The Steelers have had the most tweets mentioning the words ‘improve’ posted about them on social media with over 7,000 tweets – the 3rd most in the league, according to The Sports Geek.

? Memphis-based rapper and die-hard Steelers fan GloRilla likes the Russell Wilson signing and thinks Pittsburgh is in position to make a Super Bowl run.

“I’m so happy about that. We are going to go to the Super Bowl next year. Hell yeah and we finna get seven. I’m trying to work on a song for the Steelers. I want to do what Wiz Khalifa did with Black and Yellow. I want to be able to make a song, but it has to be the right song. I bleed black and yellow. I am a real Steelers fan,” GloRilla said on The Pivot Podcast with former Steelers free safety Ryan Clark.

“I just know I have been a Steelers fan since I was three years old. I don’t know how I became one, but I just knew since I was three years old and nobody in my family was a Steelers fan… I had to s*** on everybody because we have the most rings.”

? The official NFL Instagram account took a look back at the 2004 NFL Draft class. A clip of Ben Roethlisberger coming out of Miami of Ohio was featured.

? Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith now has his sights set on the 2024 season and thinks the defense can be one of the best in the NFL.

“We can be one of the best for sure. We can be a force,” Highsmith told Teresa Varley of Steelers.com. “When we’re all healthy, we have so many veteran guys, so many leaders on the defensive side of the ball. That’s one thing that helps us be successful. The main thing for us is just staying healthy and we know that we can be a force when we’re at full strength. I’m just excited to be able to go to work with these guys this coming season.”

? Happy Birthday to former Steelers cornerback and Hall of Famer Mel Blount, born on April 10, 1948 in Vidalia, Georgia.

Blount is regarded as one of the best cornerbacks in NFL history, recording a franchise record 57 interceptions, five Pro Bowls, six All-Pro nominations, NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1975, NFL 1980s All-Decade Team, NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team, Steelers All-Time Team and is a member of the Steelers Hall of Honor. Blount was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989.

Blount was so dominant that the NFL implemented a rule because of him in 1978. The rule prohibited the contact between defensive backs and receivers beyond five yards of the line of scrimmage. From its inception, that rule has been known in history as the “Mel Blount Rule.”

? Mike Tomlin did a voice over for the Liverpool vs. Real Betis Iron City Showdown promo at Acrisure Stadium on July 26.
