? The Steelers-Giants Monday Night Football game on Oct. 28 will get the ManningCast treatment. It’s the first time since January of 2022 that a Steelers game will be on the Mannings’ alternate broadcast.

? Colin Cowherd of FS1 called out the Pittsburgh Steelers for their defensive spending and neglecting the offensive side of the ball.

“Pittsburgh’s delusional with their whole offensive and defensive spending,” Cowherd said on The Herd. “I mean, I’m being serious here. Who has the most money spent on defense in the NFL this year? Oh, shocker, the Steelers by a mile. The Steelers don’t spend money on offense. Third year in a row, the Steelers lead the NFL in defense spending. You can keep making excuses, but I’m watching your spending. You keep doing these things and then complaining, you know our offense isn’t good enough. You’re not spending any money on it.”

? J.J. Watt enjoyed getting an inside look at Mike Tomlin in a team meeting.

“I really enjoyed stopping by the training camps because I’ve never been to a Mike Tomlin practice or meeting. As an older brother it was really special to watch T.J. in his environment as a captain of the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Watt said on the Pat McAfee Show.

? J.J. Watt hopes to see a special package with Justin Fields this season.

“I’m hoping there’s that Fields package,” Watt said on the Pat McAfee Show. ” (Mike) Tomlin’s talked about a possible package for Fields. What he did in the preseason, there’s a lot of good stuff there. I think that should be not only something for defensive coordinators to plan and think about during the week, but it can give them a lot of juice.”

? Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith sat down with Rob King to talk about the Steelers defense, his goals for the season, the Week 1 game against the Falcons and more.

? Larry Ogunjobi asked Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick about their tailgate favorites, family food traditions and what fuels them before and after they take the field.

? Wednesday marked the 41st anniversary of the highly-publicized NFL debut of John Elway against the Steelers at Three Rivers Stadium. Before leaving with an injury, Elway completed 1 of 8 passes for 14 yards and was sacked four times. He also threw an interception and finished with a quarterback rating of 0.0.

The Steelers offense was also horrendous, however, and the Broncos eked out a 14-10 win. Denver’s defense forced seven turnovers, while Sammy Winder and Ron Egloff each scored a touchdown.

? Thursday was also the 30th anniversary of the Steelers-Cowboys season opener at Three Rivers Stadium. Dallas crushed Pittsburgh, 37-7. It was the Steelers first ever game on Fox.

? Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson stopped by UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on Wednesday,
bringing lots of smiles ahead of Sunday’s season opener.
