Steelers Daily News & Links: Your daily stop for all of the news and links from the Pittsburgh Steelers, NFL and around the Sports Now Group.

🏈 Cleveland Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett said Saturday’s 45-14 loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round was the most painful of his career.

A reporter followed up by asking why. “We’ve been through so much to get here and we had a bad day on the worst time to have a bad day,” Garrett responded.

Garrett was nowhere to be found, recording  just three tackles (2 solos). He had no sacks, tackles for loss and quarterback hits. He also collected two offside penalties. It simply was not a good performance for Garrett in the biggest game of the year.

🏈 Former Pittsburgh Steelers players Nate Washington and Trai Essex trolled Myles Garrett on X for his no-show performance against the Texans.

“Hey @PFF, what was Myles’ pass win rate win % tonight?” Essex wrote. Washington said, “Anybody seen the Browns #DPOY today?!”

🏈 Steelers second-year wide receiver George Pickens averaged a league-best 18.1 yards per catch in the regular season. He had two touchdown receptions of 71 yards or more in 2023. In the last three games with Mason Rudolph at quarterback, he had receptions of 86, 66, 44, 37 and 34 yards and averaged 29.6 yards per catch.

🏈 Najee Harris has the second-most rushing yards since Week 9 with 722 yards, behind only the league’s best back in Christian McCaffrey (807).

🏈 Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s average of 345.9 offensive yards per game in the playoffs is an NFL-best (min. 5 games). Allen is 4-4 in the postseason.

🏈 With the Steelers-Bills game moved to Monday at 4:30 p.m. due to the winter storm hitting Buffalo, the Bills are now 10-point favorites and the over/under went up to 37 points. Buffalo was previously 9.5-point favorites and the over/under was 33.5.

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers strong safety Lee Flowers, born on January 14, 1973 in Columbia, South Carolina. Flowers, who was selected in the fifth round out of Georgia Tech in the 1995 NFL Draft, played eight seasons in Pittsburgh. Flowers played 112 career games (75 starts) with the Steelers and recored 443 tackles (307 solos), four interceptions, 12 sacks, 22 tackles for losses, eight forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and 26 passes defended. Flowers famously called the Buccaneers “paper champions” following the Steelers’ 17-10 win over Tampa Bay in 2001.

🎥 NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger believes the Steelers have a chance to make a difference in the Wild Card Round game against the Bills if they can dominate the line and control the ground game.
