Defensive back Antoine Brooks Jr. cleared waivers and will remain with the Steelers, according to the NFL transactions listing from Wednesday.
Brooks, who the team waived with an injury designation on Tuesday, will revert to the Steelers’ injured reserve list.
He must miss at least regular-season while on injured reserve before being considered eligible to return to the 53-man roster, but would have to be released and re-signed in order from him to do so.
Brooks will join defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas as players on the Steelers’ injured reserve list.
At the end of the 2021 season, he will become an exclusive-rights free agent.
