DB’s Steelers Dudes & Duds: Up & Down Rookies, Leal Stays Hot (+)

The Pittsburgh Steelers opened their preseason with a tough loss to the Houston Texans. After falling behind early on, the team gained some momentum in the second half but their comeback efforts ultimately weren’t enough. By no means was this the most exciting game of all time but we did learn a little bit about what this team is all about. Here are some dudes and duds from the night that was. 

Dud: QB/Center exchanges

If you’ve ever heard a Mike Tomlin press conference, you’ve heard him repeat the saying “make the routine plays routinely.” Full stop, the Steelers did not do that early in the first quarter and it contributed to a pretty sloppy performance for the first-team offense.
