DB’s Steelers Preview: Can Pittsburgh Move to 2-0 on the Road?

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to pull off a week one upset behind a dominating defensive performance. Now, they enter week two as road favorites set to take on Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos. With Justin Fields getting his second straight start under center, there are some other significant changes happening along the offensive line with first-round pick Troy Fautanu expected to get the starting nod at right tackle in the place of Broderick Jones. Pittsburgh did some good things offensively in the opener but how will they expand on that showing to hopefully put more points on the scoreboard.

SN analyst Derrick Bell breaks that down and much more in this Steelers-Broncos preview including what to expect from the Broncos from a schematic standpoint, key matchups worth keeping an eye on and what Fields needs to do in order to hang on to the starting gig for a little longer. On paper, Pittsburgh’s defensive front should be able to cause serious chaos for Bo Nix in his home debut but Denver’s defense led by Pat Surtain isn’t devoid of talent and is certainly capable of keeping things close. In a 17-game season, every game has a level of importance but the Steelers have a golden opportunity in front of them this weekend with the chance to move to 2-0 while the rest of the AFC North is still trying to find their footing.
