The full contract details for the five-year contract extension between the Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver DK Metcalf have been reported by Pro Football Talk.

Metcalf’s five-year, $150 million has $60 million guaranteed, and all of that money will be paid in the first two seasons of the contract. The new deal will carry an $11 million cap hit in 2024.

Metcalf has a $30 million signing bonus, and has guaranteed salaries of $5 million in 2025 and $25 million in 2026. He then has non-guaranteed salary and roster bonuses that total $26.5 million in 2027, $28 million in 2028 and $35.5 million in 2029.

If the Steelers want to walk away from the contract after 2026, they will owe Metcalf no new money, though there would still be an $18 million dead cap hit from his pro-rated signing bonus.

The new deal will carry an $11 million salary cap hit for 2025, with that number jumping up to $31 million in 2026, $32.5 million in 2027, $34 million in 2028 and $41.5 million in 2029.

Metcalf had been in the final season of his contract with the Seattle Seahawks, that was set to pay him just over $18 million, before he was traded to Pittsburgh. Instead, he’ll receive $35 million in cash in 2025, and a guaranteed $25 million in 2026.

The $33 million average annual value of the four-year extension will make Metcalf the fourth-highest paid receiver in the NFL.
