Did the Steelers Screw Up with Kenny Pickett? | Steelers Morning Rush

Steelers Kenny Pickett

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League.

Today, it’s former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, who played fairly well in his first start with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday before leaving with an injury. Pickett was the Steelers’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but lasted just two seasons with the team before requesting a trade after the Steelers signed Russell Wilson last offseason.

With Wilson struggling the last two games, some Steelers fans are again looking to the future at the position, but should their failure with Pickett make drafting another young quarterback a bad idea? Alan breaks it down.
