Diontae Johnson Becomes First Steelers WR to Surpass 1,000 Yards Since 2018

PITTSBURGH – Diontae Johnson’s 2021 emergence as the Steelers number one wide receiver has now reached a major milestone. Johnson’s first catch in Pittsburgh’s game against the Titans on Sunday put him over 1,000 yards on the season.

Prior to this season from Johnson, the Steelers have not had a 1,000 yard receiver since 2018 when both Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster supposed the milestone.

At the time of the catch, Johnson’s total stood at 1,006 yards. The reception that surpassed 1,000 yards was his 82nd of the year. This marks the first time in Johnson’s career he has reached 1,000 yards in a season.
