Duck, Penguins Settle Social Media Flap
Devlin Hodges does not hate the Pittsburgh Penguins.
At least not anymore.
During Hodges’ first NFL start with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, an old tweet of Hodges began to circulate amongst some Pittsburgh fans that seemed to put Hodges at odds with his new Pittsburgh professional sports brethren.
That tweet was sent just after the Penguins defeated the Nashville Predators to win the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. Hodges’ hometown of Kimberly, Alabama is about 2 1/2 hours south of Nashville and Hodges is a fan of the southern hockey team.
Lesssgooo preds!!!

But after getting bombarded with mentions during the game as the old tweet surfaced, Hodges has decided to let bygones be bygones when it comes to his hockey allegiances.
“I don’t hate the Penguins anymore promise :),” he wrote on Twitter late on Sunday night.
I don’t hate the Penguins anymore promise 🙂

For their part, the Penguins have forgiven the young Steelers quarterback. That, combined with Hodges’ unlikely victor over the Los Angeles Chargers in his first NFL start, seems to have made this the rare old-tweets-uncovered story with a happy ending all around.
We don’t hate you either, Devlin.

It seems that Duck and the Penguins are going to get along just fine. You know what they say about birds of a feather.
