ESPN’s Jordan Reid has the Steelers addressing its offensive line in his latest 2022 NFL mock draft. Reid has the Steelers picking No. 19, based on their current record, and with that pick, mining familiar territory for help on the offensive line.
He projects the Steelers to draft Texas A&M offensive lineman Kenyon Green. Green is a 6-foot-4, 324-pound lineman that has played both tackle and guard for the Aggies this season, including the left tackle spot that was vacated when the Steelers drafted Dan Moore Jr. in the fourth round this spring.
The Steelers started their offensive line rebuild in earnest this spring, taking Green and third-round center Kendrick Moore to go with 2020 fourth-round guard Kevin Dotson. But the team still has a stop-gap at right guard and an uncertain situation at right tackle, with Zach Banner and Chukwuma Okorafor both entering potential contract inflection points.
Green would certainly help shore up one more of those positions, though whether he best projects to be a tackle or a guard at the next level is up in the air.
After taking Moore this year, the Steelers also went back to Texas A&M for their fifth-round pick, taking inside linebacker Buddy Johnson, making them quite familiar with the Aggies.
