Historically, the Pittsburgh Steelers are not big spenders in the early portions of free agency but in Omar Khan’s second season as general manager, he made a big splash. In signing middle linebacker Patrick Queen to the most lucrative contract to an outside free agent in team history, he added elite speed to the second level of their defense. Since the devastating injury to Ryan Shazier, the Steelers have been desperately searching for a three-down backer that could do everything at a high level and with Queen in the fold, there’s reason to believe they’ve found it.
