Even though the Pittsburgh Steelers return their starters along the defensive line, there’s opportunity available for others to earn playing time in a reserve role. One of those players seeking out a helmet on game day is fifth-year nose tackle Breiden Fehoko. After spending all of last season on the practice squad, the LSU product has drastically slimmed down in an effort to become more than just a run stopper.
Fehoko joined SN analyst Derrick Bell to discuss a myriad of different topics including the Steelers culture built by Mike Tomlin, defensive line coach Karl Dunbar’s philosophy and the intricacies behind the nose tackle position at the NFL level. He also shared his perspective on the new-look quarterback room led by Russell Wilson and Justin Fields before naming a few breakout candidates that Steelers fans should be looking out for. Coming off a disappointing playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, Fehoko explains why he feels the 2024 Steelers are poised to make a further pull this upcoming season.
