Final Word: How Far are Steelers from Super Bowl?
The 2023 NFL season came to a close on Sunday night when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers after an overtime touchdown from Patrick Mahomes to Mecole Hardman.
The victory cemented the Chiefs as the NFL’s newest dynasty, and Mahomes as one of the all-time greats at his position, despite him only being 28 years old. What does that mean for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the rest of the AFC? How far are the Steelers from being able to compete with the Chiefs and the other top AFC teams?
Alan Saunders of Steelers Now joined Jenna Harner from our partners at WPXI, Rob Rossi of the Athletic and former Pitt and Penn State linebacker Johnny Petrishen to break down the Steelers’ chances of competing with the Chiefs to win another Super Bowl any time soon. The panel also broke down their favorite Pittsburgh Super Bowl memories and Super Bowl halftime performances and sounded off about T.J. Watt being snubbed for Myles Garrett for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
