Former Steelers Assistant Coach Hired by Buccaneers

Former Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach Blaine Stewart has been hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Steelers Now has confirmed. The move was first reported by 247 Sports.
Stewart was with the Steelers as an offensive coaching assistant from 2018-22, working with quarterbacks, tight ends and wide receivers. He spent the last two seasons as the tight ends coach at West Virginia. He had been expected to stay with WVU on the new staff under head coach Rich Rodriguez as inside receivers coach.
“I’m glad to have Blaine as a member of our coaching staff,” Rodriguez said in a statement after he was hired. “I had the privilege of working with his father, Bill, during my tenure here. I was able to watch Blaine grow up alongside my children. He is developing into a fine coach and recruiter and is an outstanding young man. He has a lot of the same qualities as his dad, and I look forward to his contributions to our program.”
Instead, Stewart will join the staff of the Buccaneers, who have a new offensive coordinator in Josh Grizzard after Liam Coen left to become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The son of former West Virginia head coach Bill Stewart, Blaine Stewart had an instant connection to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, as Tomlin and the elder Stewart coached together at VMI in 1995.
Blaine Stewart grew up in Morgantown while his father was an assistant coach and then head coach at WVU from 2000-10, attending Morgantown High School before playing at James Madison and the University of Charleston. The Steelers were his first official coaching role.
