Former Steelers Offensive Lineman Lands New Job
Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive guard Ramon Foster has landed a new job in the college football world.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive guard Ramon Foster has a new job in college football. Foster is joining the broadcast team at the University of Tennessee as its new color analyst, the university announced.
He also hosts a radio show on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville, was a sideline reporter for Tennessee Titans radio the last two seasons and hosts ‘The Ramon Foster Show’ with Dejan Kovacevic. But now he will join play-by-play announcer Mike Keith in the booth at his alma mater.
Foster attended the University of Tennessee from 2004-8 and played football for the Volunteers. After redshirting in 2004, he played in 44 games with 28 offensive line starts and was a second-team All-SEC honoree on the Vols’ 2007 SEC Eastern Division championship team.
The Tennessee product was projected to be drafted in the sixth or seventh round, but he ultimately went undrafted in 2009 and signed with the Steelers.
Foster entered training camp competing to be a back-up guard, but following an injury to starting guard Darnell Stapleton during training camp, he gained the opportunity to become the starting right guard.
He ended up losing the job to Trai Essex, but he still played in 14 games with four starts as a rookie due to injuries along the Steelers offensive line.
Foster had a similar role over the next couple of seasons before taking over as a full-time starter in 2012. He would go onto play for 11 seasons and start 145 games for Pittsburgh.

Foster, a native of Henning, Tennessee, announced his retirement following the 2019 season.
