Former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo announced his retirement from football on Sunday.
“To all my friends, family and fans today I announce my retirement from the game of football,” Chickillo said on Instagram. “My whole life my dream was to go to the University of Miami and play in the NFL. I am so grateful for the opportunity and thankful for every one of the teams that have me a shot. The game of football is apart of my family and will always be forever.”
Selected in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Chickillo played the first five years of his career in Pittsburgh as a reserve outside linebacker and special teamer.
He appeared in eleven games for the Denver Broncos last season.
Chickillo recorded 108 tackles and 8.5 sacks over his six seasons.
