Former Steelers OLB Jamir Jones Claimed on Waivers by Jacksonville
Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Jamir Jones was claimed on waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars from the Los Angeles Rams on Monday.
Jones, 23, spent all of training camp with the Steelers and made the initial 53-man roster, but was waived on Sept. 28 after playing in three games.
He was claimed by the Los Angeles Rams and played in 10 more games. He has eight tackles and two quarterback hits on the season. He was waived by Los Angeles on Dec. 25.
The Steelers have struggled to maintain depth at outside linebacker since losing Jones on waivers and Melvin Ingram demanding a trade to Kansas City. Derrek Tuszka and Taco Charlton have gotten extensive playing time behind starters Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt.
