Four Packers, Including WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Missed Practice Wednesday
Four Green Bay Packers did not practice on Wednesday as the Pack began its preparation for the Pittsburgh Steelers
Linebacker Krys Barnes (concussion), guard Elgton Jenkins (ankle), cornerback Kevin King (concussion) and wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) all missed Wednesday’s practice session in Green Bay.
Running back Aaron Jones (ankle) and safety Vernon Scott (hamstring) were both limited.
Barnes and King are both starters for the Green Bay defense that has looked leaky at times this year. The Packers have allowed 22.7 points per game, 24th in the league through three games.
Oren Burks and Ty Summers are the Packers’ backups at inside linebacker. Rookie first-round pick Eric Stokes and Chandon Sullivan are the backup cornerbacks.
Jones and Valdes-Scantling are both starters on the offense. Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard would be expected to fill in for Valdes-Scantling if he can’t play. Jones seems expected to be able to go, but if he can’t, 2020 second-round pick AJ Dillon is his handcuff.
