Monday is the start of a new week, and there was plenty of new happenings on Monday as the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted their first regular season practice of 2020 in advance of their season opener against the New York Giants, to be played a week from Monday at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey.

The Steelers were at a new venue, at least to some, as they practice outdoors at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex for the first time this season after spending training camp over at Heinz Field due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Practice featured Sean Davis for the first time in 2020. The Steelers veteran signed with Washington in the offseason, but was released on Saturday and returned to the Black and Gold in time for Monday’s session.

Finally, there was a lot of new money on the field, as defensive captain Cameron Heyward worked out, fresh off his $71 million contract extension.
