Green Bay Packers to Host 2025 NFL Draft

2025 NFL Draft Green Bay Packers Lambeau Field

The NFL announced that Green Bay will be the host of the 2025 NFL Draft, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

While the 2023 NFL Draft was held inside of a train station in Kansas City, the 2025 NFL Draft will “take place inside and around iconic Lambeau Field and Titletown,” said Pelissero.

The city of Green Bay never hosted the draft before but the state of Wisconsin did. The 1940 NFL Draft took place in Milwaukee.

After Green Bay missed out on the chance to host the 2024 NFL Draft in favor of Detroit, the team applied to host either the 2025 or 2027 NFL Draft.

It made sense for the NFL to select Green Bay as the host due to them being a finalist for the 2024 gig. The only competition for the 2025 NFL Draft was the Washington Commanders but with all of the drama happening in that organization, it was a smart idea for the NFL to lean in another direction.

The only issue that may arise with Green Bay being the host, is that the city of Green Bay is the NFL’s smallest market. This means that the Packers had to present the NFL with a viable plan that would allow the city to welcome the thousands of tourists that the draft will bring.

New York City hosted every NFL Draft from 1965 to 2014 before the NFL shifted gears and made the festivities an event that fans of all 32 teams can come and enjoy themselves.

Chicago hosted the 2015 and 2016 NFL Drafts at the city’s Auditorium Theatre. After those two years, the weekend spectacle began its road trip when Philadelphia hosted the 2017 NFL Draft.

Since 1936, 11 different cities have hosted the NFL Draft. These include Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Nashville, New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington, D.C..

Detroit and Green Bay will knock that total up to 13 cities in the next two years.
