A number of factors, including mobile ticketing, have slowed the matriculation of Steelers fans into Heinz Field this season.
In an attempt to ensure as many fans are in their seats as possible by kickoff, Heinz Field and the Steelers are starting a new fireworks alert program this Sunday night when the Seattle Seahawks come to town.
The Steelers will shoot off fireworks both an hour and 30 minutes prior to Sunday’s 8:20 p.m. kick.
Think of the alert program as an alarm clock reminding fans to wrap up their tailgates and get into Heinz Field in time for pregame introductions and kickoff.
The pregame fireworks are presented by Zambelli.
In addition, the Steelers are reminding fans to plan ahead with regards to mobile ticketing. Fans should save their mobile tickets to their digital wallet, charge their phones and get in line at least 30 minutes prior to kickoff to ensure they don’t miss the start of the game.
