Injured Steelers safety Sean Davis is among the team’s inactives for the regular season opener against the New England Patriots on Sunday night.

Davis, who was listed as doubtful with an ankle injury suffered in the team’s Week 3 preseason game, will not play.

Also scratched are defensive end Isaiah Buggs, quarterback Josh Dobbs, tight end Zach Gentry, guard Fred Johnson, cornerback Justin Layne and tackle Chukwuma Okorafor.

Okorafor’s scratch means that third-year tackle Zach Banner will be active for the first time in his Steelers career. Rookies Devin Bush, Diontae Johnson, Benny Snell, and Ulysees Gilbert will also make their Steelers debut.

Inactive for the Patriots are wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring), defensive back Obi Melifonwu (ankle), offensive lineman Korey Cunningham, defensive lineman Byron Coward, running back Damien Harris, cornerback Joequan Williams and linebacker Kyle Van Noy.
