International Free Agent: Justin Fields Weighing Options Abroad
Pittsburgh Steelers free-agent quarterback Justin Fields will weigh his options while on an international trip to Dubai.

Pittsburgh Steelers free-agent quarterback Justin Fields has a big decision to make come noon on Monday. However, it’s one that he’s not going to make in the Unites States.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, Fields will choose where he will play next while on a trip to Dubai.
With that said, Dubai is eight hours ahead of the east coast, so when the legal tampering period kicks off, it will already be 8 p.m. where Fields is. That’s why it’s fair to assume Fields could be quick with his decision.
Fields reportedly has two strong suitors in the Steelers and New York Jets, who have become increasingly more and more interested in the former first-round pick.
The combination of interest from the Jets and the Steelers and Fields not being close together on a contract amount, has led to a growing sentiment in league circles that Fields will test the open market. That seems like it will be the case with less than two hours to go.
Fields won’t be the first player to agree to terms with a new team while on an international trip, though. Wide receiver Davante Adams was in Japan when he reached agreement with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
The 26-year-old is an intriguing options for quarterback-needy teams. He threw for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and just one interception while leading the Steelers to a 4-2 start in 2024. He also rushed for 289 yards and five touchdowns during the span.

Fields was eventually replaced by fellow quarterback Russell Wilson in Week 7, which has left many wondering what could have been.
It remains to be seen what teams will be willing to pay Fields on the open market, but it seems he’ll have a market, nonetheless, while abroad.
