IR Return to Wait for Steelers Defensive Regular
Pittsburgh Steelers Injury Update: Defensive tackle Montravius Adams will have to wait another week for his IR return.
PITTSBURGH โ Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Montravius Adams said he was good to go after return to practice this week from a knee injury, but his return from the injured reserve will have to wait at least one more week.
The team announced on Friday that Adams has been ruled out for the team’s Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals this coming Sunday.
Adams had just returned to practice on Wednesday, but in that fully padded session, he was a limited participant, leading to optimism that he might be able to play this week. But since then, he was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday before being ruled out.
The team’s primary backup at nose tackle and top reserve interior defensive lineman, Adams has been out since he suffered a knee injury in practice in October. He tried to play through it against the New York Jets, but lasted just one snap before leaving that game and landing on the injured reserve.
Adams has 21 days during which he can practice while remaining on the injured reserve list. At the end of those 21 days, which started on Wednesday, he either must be reinstated or stay on the IR for the remainder of the season.
