Is Russell Wilson Playing for His Steelers Future? | Steelers Morning Rush

Steelers Russell Wilson

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, who might have played his two worst games of the season in back-to-back weeks against the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs.

Wilson has thrown two interceptions, one going into the end zone and another for a pick six, and fumbled twice, one of which was recovered by the Ravens inside the five-yard line. With the Steelers up against short weeks and injuries, playing the toughest opponents of the season, they couldn’t afford to have their veteran quarterback play his worst ball of the season at the same time.

Now, Wilson needs to rebound in Week 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals and in the Wild Card round to prove that those two games were just a fluke and not a late-season collapse. Alan breaks it down
