Is There a Fix to NFL Officiating Problems? | Steelers Morning Rush
Steelers Morning Rush: Is there a fix at hand for NFL officiating problems like last week for the Steelers and on Thursday Night Football?
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the number of badly missed calls around the NFL and if there’s anything that can be done about it.
The Minnesota Vikings lost on Thursday Night Football, which sunk the Steelers’ hopes of trading for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, after a badly missed face mask in the end zone on Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold.
That’s not a penalty that according to the current NFL rules can be aided by replay assist or reviewed through the challenge process. But should it be?
That missed call also came just after the NFL had to apologize to the Steelers for missing a call against Minkah Fitzpatrick on Sunday night.
Alan breaks it down.
