The Steelers have many impending free agents on the roster. JuJu Smith-Schuster, Terrell Edmunds, Ahkello Witherspoon, and others will be amongst the most discussed of these free agents. However, Joe Haden is also a free agent this offseason after his deal expired.

Prior to the season beginning, Haden lobbied for the Steelers to give him an extension. Due to their no negotiating during the season policy, Haden and the Steelers were hamstrung by time. Now, should they not reach a deal by March 14, the veteran cornerback will hit the open market. Despite that fact, Haden is not closing the door on returning to Pittsburgh.

The Steelers will have some semblance of cap space to use this offseason. In fact, it will be one of their more comfortable offseasons in terms of cap space. They will certainly have the money and cap space to give Haden the deal he may desire to return to Pittsburgh. Still, with other key free agents and Haden’s age, the Steelers may prioritize others over him.
