One month ago, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schustsr announced he was patterning with Bold.org to form a $10,000 scholarship aimed at fighting the student debt crisis.
Smith-Schuster doubled down on that commitment Wednesday, increasing the JuJu Foundation Scholarship to $20,000. Four undergraduate or high school students will now be awarded with $5,000 scholarships each.
“JuJu’s generosity and commitment to giving back is inspiring, and we’re thrilled to work with him to expand his impact,” Bold.org CEO and Founder Dror Liebenthal said. “The JuJu Foundation Scholarship has already received amazing applications from deserving students, and we look forward to awarding it in July.”
The announcement of the star wideout’s scholarship came last month as a part of Bold.org’s Year of Giving Campaign.
“We are excited that through the JuJu Foundation Scholarship we will now be able to help four students who are facing challenges paying for their college education,” Smith-Schuster said. “I’d encourage anyone who needs help, to please visit Bold.org and apply today.”
