PITTSBURGH — Kicker Chris Boswell set the Pittsburgh Steelers record for the most field goals in a season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Boswell’s 37-yard field goal in the first quarter put him at 37 on the season, helping him to officially break the record.

The record was already held by Boswell when he made 36 field goals in 2021, but he’s now on pace to smash that record with three games still left to be played this year.

Boswell has played a key role in several of the Steelers wins this season. In fact, he helped Pittsburgh escape with two wins this year in which the team didn’t score a single touchdown.

In Week 1, the Steelers defeated the Atlanta Falcons 18-10. Boswell scored all 18 points (six field goals). He then did the same exact thing in the team’s 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.

Boswell has not only been one of the Steelers most reliable players, though. He has also been one of the best players in the entire NFL this season, winning several AFC honors.

He is having arguably the best season of his 11-year career and he recently shared how he’s been able to stay so consistent.

“Just take each kick as what it is,” Boswell said. “Don’t look at the next one. Don’t think about the last one and just kind of be where your feet are.”

It’s difficult to come across a kicker as reliable as Boswell has been this season and his heroics have not gone unnoticed in the Steelers locker room.

Linebacker T.J. Watt is one of many who are very thankful to have Boswell on their team.

“Boswell is a beast,” Watt said. “He’s having a hell of a season. Super grateful for him.”
