Levi Wallace Returns after Leaving Game With Injury

Steelers CB Levi Wallace Buffalo Bills

ATLANTA — Steelers starting cornerback Levi Wallace left the game against the Atlanta Falcons with an undisclosed injury after a collision with Minkah Fitzpatrick while trying to secure an interception.

Levi Wallace appeared to put out his hands to try to intercept the pass, but ended up running it Fitzpatrick’s shoulder. After the play, Wallace took a knee on the field as trainers attended to him. They checked out his right arm and shoulder area after the collision. Wallace then went into the medical tent, but came out shortly thereafter.

Replacing Wallace is James Pierre. Pierre had an interception Monday against the Colts and has earned himself more playing time. Wallace has missed some time this year with a shoulder injury previously. He also suffered a concussion against the Buffalo Bills.

In addition to Pierre, Arthur Maulet would get some more playing time as Cam Sutton could be pushed out of the slot role as a result of Wallace’s injury. Currently, the Steelers are allowing the 30th most passing yards per game in the NFL. Wallace’s injury will do nothing to assuage those concerns moving forward. Josh Jackson, another outside cornerback, did not dress. Ahkello Witherspoon was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
