Locked On: Can Play-Calling Fix Steelers Offensive Problems?

The Pittsburgh Steelers struggled out of the gate on offense against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, and that’s putting it mildly.

In what became a 27-13 Eagles victory, the Steelers began the game with five consecutive three and outs. That resulted in Philadelphia dominated the overall yardage, number of plays and time of possession. When the Steelers finally did get the offense going in the third quarter, a poorly timed fumble by Najee Harris undid their hard work.

Could offensive coordinator Arthur Smith take some of the lessons from what worked later in the game and use them to get out to a hotter starter next time around when they face the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday?

Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Podcast to discuss the potential fixes to the offense. The guys also gave out stars and skulls grades from the Steelers defeat.
