Roman Wilson was the team’s third-round pick, but based on his opportunity in a very thin Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers room, he could end up making the biggest impact of the team’s NFL Draft Class of 2024 haul.

Wilson started out in the slot during the team’s rookie minicamp last weekend, and that’s where he’s most likely to play this season, but with just Van Jefferson, Quez Watkins and Calvin Austin III around him in the wide receivers room right now, Wilson could be the team’s No. 2 receiving target, even if he’s playing as a slot receiver.

Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Podcast to discuss how Wilson could break out with the Steelers. Plus, they talked about how new cornerback Anthony Averett fits into the defense, how much of an option undrafted rookie Beanie Bishop could be as a slot cornerback and  whether the team will add more to that position between now and the start of the 2024 season.
