The Pittsburgh Steelers brought in Duke Blue Devils offensive lineman Graham Barton as one of their final pre-draft visitors to UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side this week. Barton has been talked about as one of the top linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft, but hasn’t been strongly connected to the Steelers.

Was that a mistake? Barton played both tackle and center at Duke, the two positions where the Steelers have needs along the offensive line, and while most are projecting him to be a center at the next level, he has the positional versatility to play all five spots along the line — something the Steelers value.

With a pre-draft visit to go along with a formal interview at the 2024 NFL Combine, the Steelers certainly are doing their due diligence on Barton, and doing so even though their first-round pick at No. 20 might be the earliest he could possibly be taken. Are the Steelers looking at Barton at No. 20, or perhaps as a trade-back option?

Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Podcast to discuss Barton, along with whether the potential for a trade with the San Francisco 49ers for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk could work, and the Steelers’ continued interest in linebackers in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
