Locked On Steelers: How Is Mike Tomlin Handling QB Situation?
It’s looking like Mason Rudolph will start again at quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers for their must-win Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Head coach Mike Tomlin made the decision to leave Rudolph in line to start at the beginning of the week, saying in his Tuesday press conference that starter Kenny Pickett will still be limited.
Is going back to Rudolph, after his career-best — and the best for a Steelers quarterback since 2018 — performance against the Bengals on Saturday the right call? What if Pickett is fully cleared to play between now and Sunday? And how does the decision to play or not play Rudolph at the end of this season factor into the team’s plans for the 2024 season?
Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Steelers Podcast to discuss that, as well as the stars and skulls grades from the team’s Week 16 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Plus, they discussed whether or not the Steelers can sustain the momentum from that game moving forward to Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks.
