Locked On Steelers: Omar Khan Honest About Not Wanting to Trade Down?
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan turned away from the notion of trading down from pick No. 20 in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on this Thursday, saying that he would have a hard time passing up a good player.
“In my opinion, you never trade away from a good player. But obviously, if there‘s ever a scenario where it makes sense for both sides, it’s something we will look at,” Khan said. “We’ll listen.”
Of course, Khan and Mike Tomlin also said a lot of other things that we obviously partial truths, like the Steelers feeling comfortable about their internal options at center and liking the trajectory of their wide receivers room.
So which of those are truths and which are draft-time fibs?
Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Podcast to discuss how honest Khan and Tomlin were and whether we should believe them about not trading down in the first round. Alan and Chris also discussed the team’s plans at center and looked at one option for navigating the team’s first four picks in the draft.
