Locked on Steelers: Strong Start for Mitch Trubisky
Steelers Now reporter Chris Carter digs deep on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Monday through Friday all year long on Locked on Steelers. Today, Josh Taylor of KDKA joined to talk about the start of OTAs for the 2022 season Tuesday, and quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
Trubisky both acknowledged the drafting of Kenny Pickett in the first round and the challenge of replacing Ben Roethlisberger’s as part of this season’s challenge, but nothing that would disrupt his focus from being a leader at quarterback for the Steelers.
Also, Stephon Tuitt and Diontae Johnson were no-shows. But that doesn’t mean as much for future projections, as Mike Tomlin mentioned after practice. Mason Cole looked to be the team’s starting center in drills while Kevin Dotson and James Daniels were the top guards and Kendrick Green looked like a backup guard. Is this the new look for the Steelers’ OL?
Finally, Tomlin spoke happily about Najee Harris’ approach to OTAs this year. Is he ready to be a top 5 NFL running back?
