Locked On: Did Steelers Upgrade at CB with Patrick Peterson?

Steelers Sutton Peterson

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a big free agent splash on the first day, taking everyone off guard by landing former All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson from the Minnesota Vikings.

That move came on the heels of Steelers corner Cam Sutton leaving to take a three-year deal with the Detroit Lions. So it’s one in, and one out for the Steelers cornerback room, but did they get better in that exchange? Peterson will make $14 over his two years in Pittsburgh compared to $33 million for Sutton in Detroit, and with far more guaranteed money, as well. So part of the answer will undoubtedly come in how wisely the Steelers and general manager Omar Khan spend that difference in salary.

Alan Saunders of Steelers Now joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Steelers podcast to discuss the signing of Peterson, comparing him and Sutton, and how it will impact the rest of the Steelers offseason plans.
