The Pittsburgh Steelers have a decision to make at the quarterback position for 2025. With Russell Wilson foundering down the stretch run of the 2024 season, he seems like a far less likely option to return to the starter’s spot for the Steelers next season.
But there aren’t a lot of better options out there. With players like Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold and Aaron Rodgers likely dominating the free agent discussion and a very weak draft class, Wilson could end up being the best of a bad bunch of options for the Steelers at quarterback in 2025.
Of course there’s always Justin Fields, who was not as good as Wilson in 2024, but at least still possesses some upside at 25 years old.
Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter on the Locked On Steelers Podcast to discuss Wilson’s play to the end season, whether the team should want him back — and for how much — along with the idea of Fields as a potential replacement.
The guys also gave out stars and skulls grades from the Steelers defeat at the hand of the Baltimore Ravens, and talked about how they can get T.J. Watt back to his old self in 2025.
