Mac Jones Dealing With Back Spasms, Could Play Versus Steelers

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is suffering from back spasms and has a chance to play against the Steelers on Sunday, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Jones injured his back on a roughing the passer call where he landed directly on his back with no support. This is good news as the tests run on Jones’s back did not reveal anything that was too serious. That does not mean that Jones will play for sure, practice will be the guide to see if the Patriots will have their starting quarterback. If they do not, it will be Brian Hoyer starting for the Patriots,

However, there is no better outcome for the Patriots than this. At this point, Jones does feel good, but it remains to be seen if he will practice starting on Wednesday. Still, the fact that there is a chance he plays and the Steelers must prepare for him is a massive factor.

“Yeah, definitely feel better,” Jones said. “Yeah, I want to be able to be ready to play against Pittsburgh and I feel good.”

Mac Jones is going to do his normal routine this week as he prepares to potentially play in week two. So, it is really a wait-and-see game to see if Jones will heal up in time for Sunday.
