Not only will Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher Melvin Ingram be wearing a new jersey for the first time in his career this season, but he will also be sporting a new number.

The former Los Angeles Charger is making the switch to No. 8.

Ingram had previously rocked No. 54 his entire career. He wore No. 6 while at South Carolina.

Ingram is the first Steelers player to take advantage of the NFL’s new rules permitting all skill players to wear single-digit numbers.
