It might not be much of a surprise considering his team’s undefeated record, but Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is the odds-on favorite to be the NFL Coach of the Year.
According to odds released this week, Tomlin currently owns even 1/1 odds to win the award, shortened from 7/5 a week ago.
He’s followed in the list of favorites by Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores (5/1), Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich and Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel (9/1) and Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski and New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton at 12/1.
Tomlin has never won the NFL Coach of the Year award in his 14-year NFL career. Earlier this season, he tied an NFL record by clinching his 14th consecutive non-losing season, tying Marty Schottenheimer.
His 143 career regular season wins are third amongst active coaches, trailing only Bill Belichick and Andy Reid.
