West, a prominent Black scholar and activist, announced his resignation from his teaching responsibilities at Harvard in March after claiming he was denied tenure.
Ultimately, West made the decision to cut ties entirely on Monday and tweeted out the “candid” resignation letter he sent to a Harvard dean.
In part, West’s letter of resignation criticizes Harvard for the tenure situation, the administration’s stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict and his former colleagues’ indifference to the death of his mother.
This is my candid letter of resignation to my Harvard Dean. I try to tell the unvarnished truth about the decadence in our market-driven universities! Let us bear witness against this spiritual rot! pic.twitter.com/hCLAuNSWDu
