The Pittsburgh Steelers activated free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick from the non-football injury list, the club announced on Thursday.

Fitzpatrick returned to practice for the first time this training camp, taking part in individual drills during the team’s session at St. Vincent College.

He suffered a wrist injury during a bicycle accident over the summer and was placed on the NFI list on the first day of training camp.

Fitzpatrick has not worked with the first-team defense very much this offseason. He was out of team drills for most of the Steelers’ spring practice sessions while negotiating a contract extension with the team.

Veteran free agent addition Damontae Kazee replaced Fitzpatrick as the Steelers’ starting free safety during his absence.

With the return of Fitzpatrick, the only Steelers player not available for practice is defensive lineman Tyson Alualu, who is on the physically unable to perform list with knee swelling.
