PITTSBURGH — With his touchdown return in the first half on Sunday, Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is the first player to score defensive touchdowns on back-to-back weeks since 1984.
Fitzpatrick returned a fumble from Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff fumble on Sunday at Heinz Field and scampered 43 yards for a score to give the Steelers their first lead of the game.

That touchdown came one week after Fitzpatrick’s record-setting 96-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts, the team’s longest in the regular season since 1933.
The defensive scores on back-to-back to weeks is the first for the Steelers since Sam Washington had interception returns for touchdowns in Weeks 3 and 4 of the 1984 season. Washington’s first interception return for a touchdown also came against the Los Angeles Rams.
Fitzpatrick’s 12 points are sixth on the team this season.
