The Steelers offense did not have the game it wanted on Sunday. To say the least, it was a disjointed offense that appeared to struggle to move the ball. However, what were the causes? Was it an offensive line that struggled throughout the preseason? Surprisingly, that answer is largely no. While the offensive line was nothing special in the run game, they did a nice job of protecting Mitch Trubisky.
Instead, there was a combination of problems that doomed Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, one of those main problems was the quarterback himself. Trubisky was inaccurate and appeared to be out of lockstep. There were a few reads Trubisky missed. Despite the highs of Trubisky on the day, he simply lacked any consistency in those highs.

First, inaccuracy is a key thing to tackle here. This is only one such example where Trubisky and George Pickens were off all day, but Pickens has a house call here. Even though there is a defender closing in on Trubisky, he has to set his feet and fire this one with poise. Trubisky appears to rush his footwork and as a result, it sails on him. It is a tough miss for Trubisky when in reality, Pittsburgh should have put six up on the board. However, this is not the only place where Trubisky hurt Pittsburgh on the day.
