Myles Garrett Puts Steelers Fans on Notice for ‘Cleveland Sucks’ Chant: ‘We’ll See Them Again’
Browns defensive end Myles Garrett put Steelers fans on notice for chanting 'Cleveland sucks.'
PITTSBURGH — Cleveland Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett was not pleased with the “Cleveland sucks” chants by the Black and Gold faithful during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year claimed after the loss that he’ll take note of it for next year.
“We’ll see them again next year. The end result is they have that same energy when we come into their house next year,” Garrett said after the game.
The end result for the Browns in Pittsburgh has not been pretty for the Browns. Cleveland has now lost the past 21 regular-season games in Pittsburgh, last winning in 2003. Mike Tomlin is 18-0 in regular-season games against Cleveland in the Steel City.

Garrett did not have a banner day like he did in the Browns’ Week 12 win over the Steelers, but he did record a sack in the fourth quarter, when the contest was pretty much out of reach. Despite losing, Garrett did a silencing gesture to the crowd with his finger.
Garrett egged the crowd on, and that’s when the “Cleveland sucks” chants really started to roar.
The Steelers fanbase has had no love for Garrett ever since the Mason Rudolph incident in 2019. His rivalry with T.J. Watt has also added more fuel to the fire over the years. Garrett ignited the animosity when he declared that he was the best defensive player in the NFL following the Browns’ win over the Steelers in Week 12.
“I have a lot of respect for [T.J. Watt] … But I’m number 1. That’s from Edge 1 to Defensive Player of the Year. I’m the guy. That runs through me,” Garrett said in his post-game interview with Amazon Prime. “There’s no other person being schemed or planned against like I am. It just shows, you can throw that out the window. I’m gonna find a way.”
Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. got into a postgame skirmish with Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. It wasn’t an eye-popping all-out brawl but the two did exchange some choice words and shoved each other.
Porter made it clear that he has no love for the Browns.
“I already don’t like those guys and they don’t like us. I’m happy we got the team win. At the end of the day, they lost. We won. I’m happy,” Porter said.
