Najee Harris Reveals How Steelers Rushing Attack Won vs. Panthers
CHARLOTTE — Najee Harris will gladly let you know exactly how the Pittsburgh Steelers dominated the Carolina Panthers on the ground. Was it through pure physicality? Or maybe it was a scheme? How about execution?
Well, if Harris is to believed, it was their game plan all week long to dominate the Panthers. And they did that very successfully.
“So, that was one thing we said at the half was that we had to come out and start fast,” Harris said. “Cause that is one thing, sometimes we come out at the half and start slow. So, for us to take that much time off, we knew it was going to be a game of possessions because they run the ball and we run the ball. So, in a game of possessions to take off 11 minutes, I was telling everybody that’s how you run the ball.”
Najee Harris registered 11 rushing yards over expectation on the day. It was an impressive performance for the second-year man out of Alabama, who is hitting his stride coming out of the bye week to end the season. Harris also found paydirt, allowing them to run for a touchdown in 4 of his last 5 games. Needless to say, the Steelers are starting to build some games up with their rushing unit above the standard.
